CD155 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the nectin family, which serves as an adhesion molecule involved in intercellular and cell-extracellular matrix interactions. CD155 (nectin-like 5) heterodimerizes with CD113 (nectin-3) and this complex binds to CD51/CD61 complex (integrin alphaVbeta3), and to vitronectin. CD155 is also thought to regulate CD44 binding to hyaluronan, and serves as a receptor for poliovirus and cytomegalovirus. It is expressed on endothelial cells, epithelia, central nervous system, and monocytes.
