CD319 is a homophilic type I transmembrane protein with two intracellular immunoreceptor tyrosine-based switch motives (ITSMs) . It is expressed by cytotoxic T cells, activated B cells and plasma cells, NK cells, and mature dendritic cells. CD319 triggers NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Ligation of CD319 can induce proliferation, cell adhesion, cytokine secretion, and cytotoxicity of T cells and NK cells.
